INSPIRATION
We are mindful that our forefathers revered the life-giving aspects of
water... evidenced by petroglyphs along the Susquehanna River that
marked notable fishing destinations and the tomol canoes made from
driftwood that transported people and goods between mainland villages, and across open water to the Channel Islands.
We respect the same fundamental laws of water, wind and tides, and are applying today's technology to create easier access to the experience.
TRADITION
John Henry Rushton (1843-1906) was the first to design and build a variety of canoes propelled with double-bladed paddles that redefined human-powered, water-based travel for recreational enjoyment. The craftsmanship that he developed became appreciated and applauded around the world.
INNOVATION
Native Watercraft products are staying a step ahead of the evolving needs of today's paddlers. We are raising the bar on comfort, gear accessibility and user-friendly outfitting, and are constantly exploring opportunities to utilize environmentally responsible materials and manufacturing processes.
Our Ultimate™ kayak hull design, Adapt-A-Trak™ accessory outfitting system featured in the Ultimate™ Series and Plug-and-Play™ accessory mounting system featured on the Magic kayak series have been awarded US patents. These original products provide an unprecedented degree of unique features, flexibility and adaptability in paddled watercraft. In addition, the First Class Seat™ and Propel™ pedal drive systems available in MultiSport kayaks have patents pending.
Using patented fabric produced by our partners at Milliken and Company, Tegris™ boats are lighter, stronger, stiffer and less expensive than even our own elite Composites! 100% recyclable Tegris™ offers the highest performance we have seen in any hull construction materials available today. While our seating systems are still created with HiFlow™ 3-D Mesh, also 100% recyclable and is created without using cfc's (chlorofluorocarbons).
